Precision
Technologies, LLC (PTLC) is located in Cumming, Georgia, about 25 miles north of Atlanta.
PTLC was established in December, 1995, but Karl has been in the computer business since
1977.Karl graduated from Illinois State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Computer Science. In addition to his education and experience with software
design and development, he has always utilized leading edge technology. Over the years,
Karl has been the speaker at several technical discussion seminars including topics
ranging from information systems in general to specific network operating systems.
After graduating from Illinois State University, Karl worked for Country Mutual
Insurance Company as a programmer from 1978-1979, where he also worked as an intern for
six months during college.
From 1979 through 1982, Karl was Software Development Manager for PK Systems, Inc., in
Bloomington, Illinois. He designed and led a development team in the development of
several vertical market software applications including a Manufacturing System, Bank Trust
Management System, and an Inventory/POS System for the Lumber Industry.
While working for PK Systems, he designed a Construction Management software
application that is still in use today. Pat Dorsey, President of The Petry-Kuhne Company
in Champaign, Illinois, states that "despite the fact that we can find someone
locally, we can always count on Karl to provide quality service for our business
needs."
As the Vice President of Bear Computers, Inc., in Bloomington, Illinois, from 1983
through 1985, Karl was responsible for software design and development as well as managing
Customer Support, Training, and Product Acquisition. One of his crowning achievements at
Bear was the final certification of the Attorney's Time and Billing System by Digital
Equipment Corporation.
Prior to forming PTLC at the end of 1995, Karl worked ten years for Agris Corporation in Roswell, Georgia.
Before being named Director of Technical Development in February 1995, he was System
Development Manager for eight years. AGRIS is the world’s largest supplier of
Information Management Systems to the agribusiness industry.
Karl established Custom Data Services, Inc., in 1988. He operated CDS on a part-time
basis in addition to full-time employment with Agris Corporation.
Karl moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1985. Karl has one sister, Cathy, and three
brothers: Lloyd, Kyle, and Bryan. His father was in the Air Force so his family has lived
in several places around the world. His parents, Bennie and Edith, are located in
Illinois. Karl now lives in Cumming, Georgia, with his wife Nancy, their dogs Weezer
and Keeper and their cat Simba.
